BADIN, Nov 1: Badin journalists got their two kidnapped colleagues freed from clutches of dacoits through their own efforts, after efforts of police and chief minister’s directives for their recovery yielded no result.

Haji Khan Lashari and Amar Singh Rathore of Talhar, along with two others were kidnapped from near Tando Ghulam Hyder police station in Tando Moha-mmad Khan, by a group of dacoits two months ago when they were going to Talhar in a car.

The freed journalists were brought in a big procession to their home town Talhar. They were looking weak and ill. They said they were tortured physically and mentally.

Earlier, after local journalists’ protests six police teams were constituted for their recovery. The dacoits were demanding Rs5 million in ransom and later Rs2 million for journalists’ release.

The police had picked up six suspected people who were released after intervention of some influential people.
