LANDI KOTAL, Nov 1: A nurse and three other employees of the Dogra hospital were arrested in Bara on Thursday on suspicion of their involvement in the murder of a nurse.
They were identified as Rubica, the nurse, watchman Sultan and Shah Zaman and Khalilur Rehman.
Officials said that sniffer dogs were used to identify the accused.
The deceased Fakhra, belonging to Haripur, was found dead in her quarter on the hospital premises on Tuesday night.
Her younger sister Saima reported the incident to the medical superintendent and officials of the political administration.
Hospital sources said that according to initial inquiry Fakhra was strangled to death.
She was only recently transferred from the Agency headquarters hospital in Landi Kotal to the Dogra hospital in Bara.
RECOVERED: The political administration in Jamrud tehsil of the Khyber Agency got two Afghan businessmen forced from the captivity of their captors.
Officials said that Sawood and Owais were kidnapped by a gang of armed men some two months back when they were going from Torkham to Hayatabad.
The abductors had demanded Rs60 million ransom for their release.
The Jamrud political administration conducted several raids for their recovery since their kidnapping. Official sources claimed that because of mounting pressure the abductors left the traders in Malagori area and escaped.
The traders told reporters at the office of the political administration on Wednesday that they had been kept in chains during their captivity.
They said they were allowed only once to change their clothes and were provided insufficient food. They said they were also subjected to torture.
ARMS SEIZED: The Khasadar force foiled an attempt to smuggle arms from Afghanistan into Pakistan at the Torkham border on Wednesday.
The Khasadar personnel stopped a non-registered car at the border and found 1,240 Kalashnikov rounds, 10 cartridge magazines and 750 fuses used in explosions. Car driver Rehmat Ullah, who belonged to Jalalabad, was arrested.
