Internet facility demanded

Published March 24, 2002

SWABI, March 23: People in Swabi have accused the PTCL of denying the Internet facility to them, despite the frequent requests.

Out of 20 digital telephone exchanges, only eight have been provided Internet facility while the remaining 12 have been denied the access.

They said fibre cable had already been laid, and there appeared no difficulty for extending Internet facility to the remaining exchanges.

The district government was also informed about the prevailing situation and the problems faced by the willing users, they added.

The deprived areas and exchanges are included Totali, Salim Khan, Rashaka, Anbar, Baja Bamkhel, Zarobi, Parmoli, Dobian, Yar Hussain, Charbagh, Janda and Ismaila.
