Ex-nazim held on corruption charges

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 31: The Anti-Corruption Establishment of Tharparkar on Wednesday arrested the former taluka nazim Chhachhro who is also leader of the PPP from Umerkot, on corruption charges.

Circle Incharge ACE Tharparkar with the help of the ACE Umerkot arrested Dost Ali Rahimoon.

A large number of PPP workers led by MPA Syed Ali Mardan Shah staged a protest and raised slogans against the government. They forced the shopkeepers to pull down their shutters. However, heavy contingents of police reached there and got the market opened.

Report said the chief minister’s special team had conducted an inquiry into allegations against Dost Ali Rahimoon and with approval of the Sindh Government the ACE Tharparkar lodged a case on October 29 under section 467, 468, 217, 409, 420, 34 PPC, R/W section 5/2, against him.

Tension prevailed in the town after arrest of Rahimoon and police made strict security arrangements in the Umerkot.
