KARACHI: PPP slams Pindi blast

Published October 31, 2007

KARACHI, Oct 30: The central information secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party, Sherry Rehman, has condemned the suicide attack near Army Headquarters in Rawalpindi that killed seven people.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, she said that it was evident from these incidents that these terrorists posed a serious threat to the lives of both civilians and the army men.

Ms Rehman said that this attack was a grim reminder that though the country had been fighting a war against terrorism for the past five years, the enemy had only grown stronger over the time.

She said that only a democratic setup could ensure a logical conclusion of this long-drawn battle.
