NEW DELHI, Oct 28: After acquisition of provisional certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards by seven Pakistani companies, traders are eying to export six million tones of cement to India annually.

The Times of India reported that India would replace Afghanistan as the largest export market for Pakistani cement by the end of 2007.

Pakistani cement is cheaper than the Indian product, selling between Rs235 and Rs250 a bag, making it more attractive for Indian construction and real estate industries.—APP
