KARACHI, Oct 27: Pakistan reject Bazid Khan fell just three short of scoring a century in successive matches as Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) gained first-innings lead over PIA in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship fixture at the KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

Bazid, who last week scored 122 in the first-round match against ZTBL, hit 97 to rescue KRL from 16 for three to 232 for four on second day of the four-day clash. Together with former Test opener Ali Naqvi, who is still at the crease with 108, Bazid added 193 for the fourth wicket.

Helped by centuries from Hammad Tariq (116) and Imranullah (115) and Usman Tariq’s 91, Multan piled on the agony for Sialkot by making 458-8 in reply to their opponents’ paltry first-innings total of 100 at the Sheikhupura Stadium.
