Anti-encroachment drive

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 26: More than 15 shops constructed in and around the premises of Umerkot Fort were demolished on the first day of anti-encroachment drive on Friday.

Mukhtiarkar Umerkot Jhamandas and the TMO Umerkot Ameer Bux Junejo led the operation with heavy police contingent.

Mukhtiarkar Umerkot had issued notices to remove illegal construction otherwise as per the Supreme Court’s directives all encroachments made in an around the protected area of historical Umerkot will be demolished.special prayers: Hindu community offered prarthana (special prayer) under the aegis of PPP minority wing, Mirpurkhas district, here on Friday at Lal temple and Shiva temple for the life and safety of Benazir Bhutto and the departed soul of martyrs of Karachi carnage.

Prarthana was led by Sanat Murli Dharsingh, which was attended by divisional president minority wing Dr Suroop Chand, district president Balam, Dana Ram, Dr Santosh Kumar Malhi, Chothio Bheel, Bhagwan Das, Vikki Raja, Verjimal and others.
