RAWALPINDI, Oct 26: A man, his wife, and their 18-year-old daughter were burnt critically when the cooking gas cylinder in their house in Morgah exploded on Friday, police said.

Mohammad Ayub, 45, his wife Sajida, 40, and their daughter Saima were trapped in the resulting fire and severely burnt.

Police said the gas cylinder exploded with a loud bang when Sajida showed a match to the gas stove, and started a fire.

Neighbours converged at the scene on hearing the explosion and screams of the victims trapped in the fire. They dragged the family out of the fire and rushed them to the District Headquarters Hospital.
