LAHORE, Oct 24: Pakistan and Qatar clash in the 13th AFC U-16 championship qualifiers at the Qatar Sports Club in Doha on Thursday.

It is the first-ever contest between under-16 teams of both the countries, who have so far played eight matches against each other.

Their last match took place in the 29th Olympic Games qualifier (second leg) this year, which Qatar won 7-0.

Forty-five teams, taking part in the competition, are divided into eight groups. Seven groups have six teams each while Group ‘H’ has three teams –– Korea Republic, Thailand and Taiwan.

Winners and runners-up of the seven groups will qualify for finals along with the winner of Group ‘H’.

Thursday’s fixtures: Pakistan v Qatar (Qatar Sports Club); Yemen v Oman (Qatar Sports Club); Syria v Kyrgyzstan (Al Arabi Stadium).—APP
