UN’s biased role rapped

Published October 25, 2007

GUJRANWALA, Oct 24: The district bar association ripped to shreds the United Nations for playing its puppet role at the behest of US and other European countries.

At a meeting held here on Wednesday chaired by bar president Ilyas Rehan, participants including secretary-general Amir Munir Bagari and others alleged that the US-led coalition forces were engaged in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and other countries where serious violations of human rights were being perpetrated.

They said that the UNO was supporting these powers instead of favouring the oppressed nations. They alleged that the attack on Afghanistan and Iraq was a state terrorism where hundreds of thousands of innocent people, including women and children, were being killed.
