DADU, Oct 24: A team of National Accountability Bureau officials raided the office of EDO education Dadu on Wednesday and sealed the record of SMC funds and 400 ‘ghost’ schools.

The NAB team, headed by investigation officer Mohammad Asif and land officer of NAB Karachi inquired from education officials regarding the 400 ghost primary schools in the district.

The team also sealed record of salaries of teachers and all documents of schools since their date of opening. The NAB has also started inquiry against two former EDOs education Dadu — professor Qamaruddin Farooqi, professor Ghulam Mustafa Kalhoro — and sitting EDO professor Jalil Akhund and 10 ADEOs from 2002. The team was also collecting details of property of officials of education department reportedly involved in the case.

The team has set-up its camp office at circuit house Dadu and started visiting schools in Johi, Dadu, Mehar and Khairpur Nathan Shah.—Correspondent
