RAWALPINDI, Oct 24: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) will establish a ‘Professional Development Centre’ at the National University of Sciences and Technology (Nust) for the capacity building of doctors, engineers and IT professionals, and to develop trained human resources in key areas.

Offering educational programmes leading to postgraduate diplomas, certificates and degrees, the proposed centre will help in introduction of advanced technologies, continued professional development, quality management, transfer and diffusion of new technological developments, and educational management for engineers, doctors, IT professionals and managers.

According to a press release, the centre would provide working professionals with opportunities to improve their knowledge, skills and creativity.

It would mainly focus on improving the quality of human resources in the country. This capacity building will also lead to a better understanding and cooperation between the industry and universities of the country.
