Hashar takes on Intikhab in final

LAHORE, Oct 21: Hashar Bashir and Intikhab qualified for the boy’s under-18 singles final in the fourth All Pakistan Badminton Cup at the New Khan court Sunday.

In the first semi-final, Hashar Bashir was stretched to full distance by Intikhab who managed to pull off a 17-15, 15-6, 15-12 victory.

Intikhab, with sizzling shots and deft placement, won first game after neck-and-neck proceedings. But Hashar Bashir proved his skill, ability and stamina by giving no chance to Intikhab in the next two games which he won at 15-6 and 15-12.

In the second pre-final, Atif Nadeem faced less resistance from Ijaz Ahmad before winning 15-7, 15-12.

In the semifinals in the boy’s under-18 were also decided.

Atif and Farooq Rafi recovered to beat the pair of Hashar Bashir and Kashif 5-15, 15-7, 15-11. They will face Ijaz and Intikhab who proved too good for Rizwan Aazam and Kashif while winning 15-11, 15-12.
