Blast victim laid to rest

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 22: Muhammad Ramzan, (26), one of the victims of Karachi carnage, was laid to rest on Monday at his native town Khairpur Tamewali (Hasilpur tehsil), about 60km from here.

A large number of people, including PPP district leaders and workers, offered his funeral prayers at Khairpur Eidgah.

Muhammad Ramzan alias Baggoo, son of Muhammad Anwar Baloch, was married six months ago. He went to Karachi to welcome his leader Benazir Bhutto on Oct 18. After the blasts, Ramzan’s sister and brother-in-law proceeded to Karachi to locate him and identified his body at Edhi’s morgue.

OUTAGES: The Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) on Monday started unscheduled loadshedding in the city and its suburbs, causing a great deal of inconvenience to consumers particularly businessmen.

Reports said power supply remained suspended for 30 minutes to an hour in many localities and bazaars.

When contacted, Mepco officials said electricity was suspended on the directions of load management board, Islamabad.
