KARACHI, Oct 17: At least 10 teams are expected to feature in the National Women’s Basketball Championship which takes place at Hyderabad Club, Hyderabad, from Nov 25 to 30, secretary, Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation (PABF), Col (retd) Nasim Butt, said on Wednesday.

Besides the four provinces, Islamabad, AJK, Wapda, Police, Railways and HEC are to fight for glory.

To a question, he said Wapda who has the playing rights had a full fledged outfit while Police and Railways were raising their teams. He informed that the federation will provide boarding and lodging to the provincials teams.

The PABF official said the National Men’s Basketball Championship will take place either at Lahore or Rawalpindi at the fag end of the year.

The PABF, he said, plans to conduct refresher courses for referees and coaches during the two national events.

“The PABF will organise both the events,” he said in response to a query.
