SIALKOT, Oct 17: Eight people were murdered in separate incidents during the last 24 hours in the Sialkot district.

Reports said that four accused, including Amanat alias Rizwan, gunned down two brothers, Karamat and Asad, and injured seriously their brother, Sajid, on Wednesday over a land dispute in Hunjali Peeraan Di-Phalora village, Pasrur tehsil.

Before fleeing while resorting to aerial firing, the assailants performed `Bhangra’ near the dead bodies. The injured was shifted to Mayo Hospital, Lahore, in critical condition. The bodies were shifted to the local THQ hospital for autopsy.

Phalora police have registered a case with no arrest.

In Kollokey village, Sambrial, landlord Manzoor Hussain and his young son Mansoor Suhail were shot dead by 12 armed men. The cause of the incidents was said to be the defeat of dogs of Master Nawaz in fight against the dogs of the deceased landlord.

Sambrial police have instituted a case against 12 accused, including Master Nawaz, Saadat Ali, Imran alias Kala, Asad Ali, Aftab Ahmad, Sarfraz Ali and Gul Nawaz.

A passerby, Shakeel Masih (25), was killed after he caught in crossfire between the two rival Pathan groups in Jaithikey village, Sambrial.

Sambrial police have registered a case against the Muhammad Khan and the Hazrat Khan groups.

In Uggoki, six assailants stormed into the house of labourer Muhammad Akbar and stabbed him to death over an old enmity.

A case has been registered against accused Naeem, Nadeem alias Noni, Naseem alias Guddu, Hamza, Zafar and Sufyan.

In Kotli Khokharan village, accused Muazzam knifed to death a youth, Sameer, over an old enmity. Later, deceased’s brother gunned down Muazzam in revenge.

Begowala police have instituted a case.

DRUG ADDICTS: Members of an NGO, the Daska Young Blood Foundation, on Wednesday picked up 51 drug addicts from different parts of Sialkot in an operation conducted under the ‘Sialkot Drugs Free City Programme’.
