MIRPURKHAS, Oct 16: Three NGOs — HRCP, Sindh Samaji Sangat, and Indus Rural Development Programme — took out a procession on Tuesday from the railway station chowk to protest against the failure of the government to implement the Sindh Tenancy Act (STA) and other land reforms.
The protesters led by Wajid Leghari, Kanji Rano Mal Bheel, and Sain Bux Wassan marched through the main roads and held a protest meeting at the local Press Club. They noted that the vigilance committees constituted to implement the tenancy act were inactive.—BoC
