Gas cylinder blast causes panic

RAWALPINDI, Oct 11: A gas cylinder explosion at the bustling Super Market in Islamabad sent a wave of panic and fear across the city and concern among security agencies on Thursday night.

Police said a balloon vendor was roaming in the market when his gas cylinder on a cart exploded with a bang. “Luckily the vendor was away from the cylinder, otherwise he would have been hurt,” an investigating officer said.

The left over parts of the cylinder and the cart have been impounded by the police and a search has been launched to trace the balloon seller, he added.
