Wapda clinch trophy

LAHORE, Oct 21: Wapda clinched the Mohammad Naqi Butt_Iqbal Butt Challenge weightlifting trophy when its lifter lifted a total weight of 1917.5kg at the National Coaching and Training Centre Sunday.

Punjab team lifted a total weight of 1390kg to earn the runners-up position while Police, with a total weight of 1767.5kg, finished third.

Three teams participated in the event.

Results:

Wapda: 1917.5kg (Ilyas Butt 305kg, Mahmood Hera 242.5kg, Shuja-ud-din Malik 310kgs, Jamshed Arshad Malik 285kg, Zaheer-ud-din 300kg, Rashid Minhas 230kg, Javed Sarwar 245kg)

Punjab: 1390kg (Mohammad Imran 160kg, Eithi Abbas 197.5kg, Majeed Sadique 200kg, Ghulam Faisal 262.5kg, Suleman Butt 180kg, Nadeem Fayyaz Butt 180kg, Haider Ali 210kg)

Police 1767.5kg (Kashif Barkat 200kg, Tariq Azam 237.5kg, Majeed Doggar 215kg, Haroon Bin Rashid 265 kg, Mohammad Rizwan 225kg, Tariq Amin 200kg, Aqeel Butt 265kg, Nadeem Javed Butt 160kg)
