KARACHI, Oct 11: The District and Sessions Judge, Central, Abdul Malik, on Thursday granted bail to eight activists of the Awami National Party who were arrested by police in the limits of Rizvia Society police station for protesting against the presidential election and blockading the road on Oct 6.

The court granted them bail against surety bonds of Rs50,000 each. The accused were identified as Waseem, Saif-ur-Rehman, Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Bahadur Khan, Mustafa, Fazal Karim and Sajid.

The police had registered a case (FIR No 194/07) against them at the Rizvia police station under Sections 147, 148, 149, 427, 341, and 324/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
