MIRPURKHAS, Oct 10: The investigation officer of the high profile Mannu Bheel case on Tuesday submitted in the court of civil judge and judicial magistrate of Digri final challan against the accused who faced charges of being involved in kidnapping nine family member of Mannu Bheel.

Investigation Officer Abid Kaimkhani said in the challan that the accused Hashim Khaskheli, Natho Bheel, Abdul Rehman Mari, Jummo Bheel, Ibrahim Machi, Lal Bux Hingoro, Mansingh Bheel, Rajo Bheel, Manzoor Ahmed Chandio and Shabbir Kaim Khani faced charges of kidnapping Mannu Bheel’s family including Khero, son of Salo, Jalal, son of Khero, Shremti Akko, wife of Khero, Jamyo, son of Mannu Bheel, Kanji, son of Mannu Bheel, Shremti Momal, daughter of Mannu Bheel, Deily, daughter of Mannu Bheel, Shremti Muta, wife of Mannu Bheel, and Kirto.

Two of the accused Hashim Khaskheli and Natho Bheel were on bail granted by the sessions court of Mirpurkhas, while the accused Manzoor Ahmed Chandio was on interim bail given to him by the Hyderabad circuit bench of the Sindh High Court.

Mr Kaimkhani said that the main accused Abdul Rehman Mari was in central prison Hyderabad while the others were in district prison Mirpurkhas.

Six of the accused declared as proclaimed offenders were identified as Mohammad Azam Khaskheli, Sher Khan alias Sheral Chandio, Qazi Abdul Jabbar, Abdul Jabbar Mari, Nangar Khan Nizamani and Sher Khan Mari, he said.

He said that the interim challan of the case had been submitted on May 13, 2006 and since then the investigation continued on the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

He said that all the pieces of evidence gathered from witnesses including Mannu Bheel, Shremti Dharmi, confessions of the accused Jummo Bheel, Ibrahim Machi and Mansingh Bheel and statements of other accused proved that the landlord Abdul Rehman Mari and his men had kidnapped the nine family members of Mannu Bheel and kept them detained at unknown place.

The whereabouts of the disappeared family members still remained unknown.
