Judge orders release of 76 criminals

GUJRANWALA, Oct 10: The district and sessions judge on Wednesday ordered release of 76 prisoners involved in minor cases during his visit to the central jail ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The judge, Mazher Hussain Minhas, during his visit to the jail, got prepared the list of the prisoners involved in minor cases and directed the authorities concerned to make arrangements for their release so that they could celebrate the eve with their families. Their release will be executed on personal surety.

The judge also inspected various barracks and kitchen of the facility and directed the jail authority to ensure provision of better facilities to the inmates in accordance with the jail manual. The jail superintendent, Shaukat Feroze, and other officers were present.
