Two Eids likely in NWFP

SWABI, Oct 10: The district Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Wednesday that it would hold its meeting in the tehsil mosque after Isha prayer on Friday and if received any evidence of sighting of Shawwal’s moon, it will announce that Eidul Fitr would be celebrated on Saturday.

This announcement of the committee was made by Syed Ali Basar, General Secretary of Anjuman-i-Ulema-i-Karam and Qari Ashraf Ali, Coordination Secretary of the Anjuman, on Wednesday.

They appealed to the people to reach the tehsil mosque for give evidence about sighting of the moon after Isha prayer.

In various parts of the NWFP and its tribal areas, people always celebrate Eidul Fitr a day before the rest of the country.

Last year, three Eids were celebrated.
