PESHAWAR, Oct 9: The NWFP governor is in hectic consultation with his legal aides over the advice sent to him by the chief minister for dissolving the provincial assembly and is yet to decide names for a caretaker setup.

Official sources told Dawn that deliberations were continuing over the set-up to be established after the assembly was dissolved.

Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai has to take a decision by 1pm on Wednesday, otherwise the assembly will stand dissolved under Article 112 of the Constitution.

Under the said article, the assembly stands dissolved 48 hours after the chief minister’s advice to the governor for doing so.

The governor has accepted the resignation of assembly speaker Bakht Jehan Khan, which was notified on Tuesday.
