PESHAWAR, Oct 8: The heavy Eid shopping, especially in late hours, causes the power distribution system to overload in the provincial capital, putting costly equipment, including power transformers, distribution transformers and transmission lines, at risk.
A spokesman for Pesco has requested the consumers to control unnecessary usage of electricity, especially during the peak hours (from 6pm to 11pm) by switching off air-conditioners and extra lights of shops, plazas and houses.
He said switching off one air-conditioner provides light to at least 10 houses.—APP
