PESHAWAR, Oct 8: NWFP Governor Lt-Gen (retd) Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai on Monday inaugurated the re-constructed building of the Government High School No. 4 in Abbottabad. The school’s building, damaged in the 2005 earthquake, was rebuilt by a Turkish firm.

The ceremony was part of the NWFP governor’s itinerary for his day-long visit to the earthquake-hit areas.

Terming the project a symbol of friendship between the two countries, the governor said Turkish people were among the first to arrive in the quake-hit areas.

Highlighting the strength of the bonds between the two peoples, he said that Turkish people had helped the calamity-stricken people with an open heart. He also inspected various sections of the school.
