ISLAMABAD, Oct 8: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) says it has invited international consultants for carrying out feasibility study and reference design for a mass transit system in the federal capital.

“Proposals are invited from international consultants of repute having experience of successfully conducting similar studies,” official sources said.

The authority wants to carry out the study after Eidul Fitr as it has finalised the terms of reference of the procedure. The CDA will provide funds for the study which is likely to start during the current fiscal year, the sources said.

So far, some 14 local and foreign consultants have submitted applications and have recommended to extend the time-frame of the feasibility study to eight months.—APP
