DADU, March 20: The workers of the Pakistan People’s Party, Johi Taluka, took out a protest rally against the SHO, Johi town police station, on Wednesday. The PPP activists were led by the taluka president, Bashir Ahmed Thaheem.

After marching on the main roads of the town they held a demonstration outside the local press club. Talking to newsmen, Bashir Thaheem said that the SHO had registered fake cases against PPP workers about three days ago.

He demanded senior officials to take action against him.

POLICE VERSION: The DSP, Headquarters, Dadu, Haji Sikandar Ali Mangi told newsmen at the Johi town police station that the Johi police had arrested at least 25 absconders and thieves during raids and had recovered weapons from their possession.

He further said that PPP activists had blocked the Johi-Dadu Indus Highway and had blocked traffic so the police registered a case against them.

HESCO METER: Two power consumers and a private electrician were arrested by teams of the Hesco, Sehwan sub-division, during raids at various places in Amri town on Wednesday.

Two special teams of Hesco sub-division, Sehwan, raided various places in Amri town and found two electricians, M. Bachal and M. Faisal, tampering with the meters of some shopkeepers including A. Mallah, Paryal Shah, Haji Noor, and Imdad Shah.

The team informed the Amri police and registered a case against four consumers. They arrested electrician, M. Faisal, and two subscribers, A. Dino Mallah and Haji Noor, while the others managed to escape.
