KARACHI, Oct 6: Pakistan are looking forward to beating India in a tough pool game at the six-nation junior International hockey in Singapore which will be played from Oct 17 to 21, team manager official said on Saturday.

“We have prepared hard and boys are mentally and physically eager to do well in Singapore,” manager Jahangir Butt said.

Pakistan are drawn with India and Hong Kong, while Australia, Malaysia and hosts Singapore are in other group. Pakistan will clash with India on Oct 20.

“It will be a tough task but our boys are capable of beating India if they produce top game,” he said.

Jahangir rated his forwards as team’s main strength and added that Pakistan will not be taking the first game against Hong Kong lightly.

The Olympian said Singapore event will be a good for youngsters against competitive teams like Australia, India and Malaysia.

The junior team will leave for Singapore on Oct 15.—Agencies
