MIRPURKHAS, Oct 6: The Government Contractors Action Committee Taluka has expressed concern over violation of tender rules in awarding of contracts by Taluka Municipal Administration to their favourite contractors.

Officer-bearers Hussain Bux Mari, Mohammad Zakaria Rajput and Sajjad Rind expressing their fears during a press conference on Saturday said millions of rupees of development works will go waste as work had been allotted to inexperienced contractors.

The TMA Hussain Bux Mari invited tender on September 29 but when contractors reached the office of Taluka Nazim, it was extended till October 4 they said and added that on meeting him at the mentioned date it was announced the work had already been awarded to.

They accused Taluka Nazim of abandoning tender process by awarding contracts to favourite after receiving bribes which was violation of rules and regulations.

They called for an inquiry and cancellation of contracts awarded without proper process.

Four hurt: Four passengers got seriously injured when a passenger van fell into a ditch at Mirwah Gorchani and Kot Ghulam Mohammed Road, on Friday.

The van was on its way to village Ghuman Kalro near Kot Ghulam Muhammad, when the driver lost control and it fell into a ditch.

Four passengers Mohammad Yaqoob Kalro, Ahmed Kalro and two unidentified persons received serious injuries. Injured were rushed to the Rural health Centre Mirwah Gorchani.
