3 children drown in Ravi

LAHORE, Oct 5: Three children drowned in the Ravi on Friday when they were swimming.

Amir (12), Yousaf (9) and Haroon (10) of Sabzi Mandi were swimming in the river near a salt factory in Shahdara Town when they drowned.

Another child who was swimming with them informed police about the incident.

Police claimed to have recovered the body of one of them, but that had not been identified by Friday evening.

ACCIDENTS: Two people died in separate accidents in the city on Friday.

Thirty-five-year-old Shamim of Hanjarwal was going home with her son on a motorcycle when a car hit them in the Chuhng area.

Shamim died at the scene and her son was injured. He was taken to Jinnah Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical. The car driver fled.
