LAKKI MARWAT, Oct 5: District Nazim of Lakki Marwat, Humayun Saifullah Khan, has said that the construction work on the Tajazai 132KV grid station will begin after Eid-ul-Fitr and end by the current year.

Talking to APP here on Friday, the nazim said that tenders for the grid station had been floated.

The district nazim added that work on putting in place 35km of transmission lines from Sarai Naurang had been completed.

He said that work on the towers would finish after Eid and added that officials of the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) after completing the survey of a 50-kilometre transmission line would present a report for final approval to the Central Design Office in Lahore.

The district nazim thanked President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Federal Minister for Water and

Power Liaqat Ali Jatoi for providing Rs600 million for the project.

Moreover, he added that the federal government had provided Rs100 million to provide electricity in every house of the district.

He said that Rs50 million had been released by the federal government for various power schemes in the district.

He said that completion of projects would fulfil the long-standing demand of the area people and resolve all electricity-related issues.
