KARACHI: Al-Quds rally held

Published October 6, 2007

KARACHI, Oct 5: The Imamia Students Organization staged an Al-Quds freedom rally on Friday.

Hundreds of the rally participants, including children and women, marched on M.A. Jinnah Road from Numaish Chowrangi to Regal Chowk in Saddar to lodge their protest against the US-backed Israeli oppression against the Hamas-led government in Palestine.

Jafria Alliance President Allama Abbas Kumaili, ISO President Yafis Naveed Hashmi and other leaders addressed the protesters at Regal Chowk.

The speakers condemned the killing of innocent citizens by foreign elements in Palestine. They said jihad was the only way to deal with the oppressive forces in Palestine and praised Hezbollah, Hamas and other parties for bravely confronting Israel.

At the end, they set on fire the US and Israeli flags and the effigies of the US president and the Israeli prime minister.—PPI
