APDM to stir traders into action

FAISALABAD, Oct 4: The All Pakistan Democratic Movement local chapter has decided to mobilise the traders, particularly of Clock Tower markets, to make the Oct 6 shutter-down call a success.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Al-Markaz Jamaat-i-Islami, Chiniot Bazaar.

Sources said different committees had been constituted and given tasks to muster support of the traders so that they could efficiently take part in the strike announced by the APDM.

The officials said tendering the resignation meant that the opposition had started a final round of protest against the government and it would continue until the restoration of democracy in the county.

They announced that the APDM activists would stage protest demonstrations on Oct 6 and take out rallies to register protest against the wrongdoings of the government.

PML-N city president Khwaja Muhammad Islam, MMA office-bearer Zafar Husain, Dr Javed Akhtar and Tehrik-i-Insaaf district president Sajjad Haider Khan were prominent among those present.

Meanwhile, DIG (Operations) Muhammad Aslam Tareen instructed the police officials to be on the alert on Oct 6 and intensify patrolling during the last days of Ramazan.
