Mailsi gas project inaugurated

VEHARI, Oct 2: MNA Azhar Ahmed Khan Yousafzai inaugurated the project to supply gas to Mailsi tehsil on Tuesday.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony in Thana Chowk in Mailsi, the MNA said over Rs900 million would be spent on the project, which would be completed in next few months in two phases, benefiting one million people of the area.

In the first phase, he said, gas would be supplied from Mian Channu to Tibba Sultan Pur, costing Rs372.65 million, while the project to supply gas to Mailsi city, costing over Rs650 million, would be completed in the second phase. Mr Yousafzai said the federal government would provide 50 per cent of the project cost.

Later, talking to reporters, he said that he left the Pakistan People’s Party after returning to the National Assembly from NA-170 and joined the ruling party just to undertake welfare of the people of his constituency.
