Aitzaz to contest SCBA election

ISLAMABAD, Oct 1: Advocate Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday filed his nomination papers to contest the election for the presidency of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).

His name for the SCBA top post was proposed by Justice (retd) Tariq Mehmood, Hamid Khan, Ali Ahmed Kurd and Akram Sheikh.

Returning Officer Hafiz S.A. Rehman said nomination papers could be submitted at the SCBA offices in Islamabad and Lahore till October 4.

The scrutiny of papers would be conducted on October 5 in the presence of the candidates or their authorised agents. The election will be held on October 7.
