KARACHI: Short-circuit causes fire

Published March 20, 2002

KARACHI, March 19: Household items were completely destroyed in a fire in an apartment at Karson Complex in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Tuesday.

Fire brigade sources described the cause of the fire as fluctuation in electricity voltage.

Residents complained that the KESC authorities had been reluctant to regularize the electricity supply to the residential complex. Due to sub-standard wiring, voltage fluctuations occurred frequently which damaged electrical appliances.
