Qasmi CC advance in KG event

KARACHI, Sept 29: Saif Ashraf and Atif Maqbool steered Qasmi Cricket Club to the super six round at the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament, defeating Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club by 57 runs at the KG Ground on Saturday.

Saif Ashraf top-scored with 48 off 37 balls with four boundaries and brace of 6s as Qasmi CC posted 147-9 in their 20 overs.

Mohammad Hussain CC, in reply, crashed to 90 all out in 17.1 overs. Off-spinner Atif Maqbool captured three wickets for 21 while Umair Ahmed and Wasim Naeem chipped in with two wickets each.

Saif Ashraf was named man of the match.

Cantt Sports will take on M. Tex CC in the next game of the tournament on Sunday.
