MUZAFFARGARH, Sept 28: Punjab PPP President Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the decision to expel Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar from the PPP will be taken by Benzair Bhutto, however, party’s secretary-general Jehangir Badr has issued Mr Khar a show-cause notice because of his utterances against the party policy.
Talking to reporters after addressing party workers here on Friday, he said Mr Khar still could get PPP ticket if Ms Bhutto nodded.
Present on the occasion, District Nazim Qayyum Jatoi said Ms Bhutto would again take up the issue of awarding PPP tickets in Muzaffargarh district as previous distribution of party tickets had not yet been finalised.
Earlier, addressing PPP workers and leaders, MR Qureshi said the PPP would arrange the biggest show in the history of Pakistan to welcome Benazir Bhutto in Karachi on Oct 18.
He directed all workers to reach Karachi so that PPP’s Punjab chapter should surpass all other provincial chapters of the party in welcoming Ms Bhutto.
He said a great deal of effort was required to arrange a big show to welcome the PPP leader otherwise they would also fail like the PML-N failed to bring a large number of people to receive Nawaz Sharif on Sept 10. Mr Jatoi and local leaders, including Mohsin Qureshi, Rana Mahboob and Mazhar Pahoor, announced that they would lead big caravan of buses to Karachi to welcome Ms Bhutto.
Earlier, PPP workers received Mr Qureshi at Tulheery Pull and later brought him to Muzaffargarh city in a rally. Talking to supporters, Mr Qureshi said they should take such a big rally to Karachi on Oct 18 as well. Later, he left for Layyah to address party workers there.
