LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 28: The only Utility Stores Corporation outlet in Lakki city was found closed when District Coordination Officer Amir

Latif and other officials conducted a surprise inspection of it on Friday.

The officials accompanied by the personnel of law-enforcement agencies were astonished to see that the outlet was locked and its staff were absent.

Several Utility Stores Corporation outlets have been established in the district for the purpose of providing food items to the people on subsidised rates as per government policy.

The DCO expressed anger over the closure of the outlet and directed the officials concerned to initiate action against the negligent employees.

“The government is determined to provide foodstuff to the common people on cheap rates in Ramazan,” he said. He made it clear that carelessness on the part of the officials concerned would not be tolerated.
