Factory, house looted in two strikes

GUJRANWALA, Sept 22: Dacoits looted the factory of a former president of chamber and a trader’s house in two strikes here on Saturday.

Reports said four robbers forced their entry into the factory of chamber of commerce ex-president Rana Nasir by scaling the boundary wall. They held hostage factory staff and a cashier, taking away cash worth Rs600,000 at gunpoint.

In the second incident, dacoits entered the house of trader Noman Zahid Gondal in Wapda Town, held the inmates hostage and made off with Rs200,000 and 110-tola jewellery. Police are investigating.

CHARGE SHEET: The local anti-terrorism court No.1 on Saturday issued a charge sheet to main accused former SHO inspector Zulfikar Ali Virk in the Sialkot jail incident case.

According to the prosecution, Mr Virk had escaped from police custody in 2005 while the civil lines police registered a case against him.

The court adjourned the case till Sept 29.
