Sami fined

LAHORE, Sept 21: Fast bowler Mohammad Sami has been fined Rs 105,000 for reporting late on Thursday and Friday during the ongoing four-day game against Australia ‘A’ at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Pakistan ‘A’ Coach Aaqib Javed confirmed that Sami had been fined Rs5,000 on Thursday for joining the team 35 minutes late. But on Friday, Sami reported almost one hour late of the scheduled time and has thus been slapped with a fine of Rs100,000 in keeping with the clause of the players’ central contract.

The PCB appears determined to adhere to its zero tolerance policy on indiscipline and the recent fines on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and Sami are ample proof of that.—Sports Correspondent
