PESHAWAR: Checks on uplift schemes urged

PESHAWAR, Sept 21: NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai has stressed the need for an effective monitoring system in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas to ensure transparency in the developmental schemes of the region.

He constituted a committee for an in-depth study of the existing monitoring mechanism.

A handout issued here on Friday said that Governor Aurakzai attended a presentation on the newly constituted Monitoring Cell of the Civil Secretariat Fata.

The governor said that monitoring of development schemes in Fata was important to ensure effective utilisation of developmental funds.—Bureau
