LTTE’s arms storage bombed

Published September 21, 2007

COLOMBO, Sept 20: The Sri Lankan Air Force fighter jets on Thursday afternoon bombed a northern Tiger rebel armament storage dump, the military headquarters in Colombo said.

A statement by the military said Air Force pilots confirmed that the targets in Thursday’s air raids were taken effectively causing extensive damages to the LTTE weapon storage.

The attack came shortly after the LTTE slammed the government accusing it of attempting to escalate the country’s ethnic conflict to ‘hitherto unseen heights’.—Our Correspondent
