Kashif sparkles in KG event

KARACHI, Sept 19: A blazing knock of 60 by Kashif Siddique inspired M. Tex XI to a 32-run victory over Omer CC in the 22nd Karachi Gymkhana Tapal Trophy Ramazan Cricket Festival at the KG Ground here on Wednesday.

The left-handed opener struck eight fours and a brace of sixes in his 23-ball cameo as M. Tex XI reached 202 for seven in their 20 overs. Apart from Man-of-the-Match Kashif, wicket-keeper Shahbaz Butt bludgeoned 43 off 29 balls with the help of two sixes and as many fours.

Slow left-armer Fariduddin was the pick of Omer CC’s bowlers with figures of three for 31.

Omer CC, in reply, made 170 for eight despite a superb 56-ball 80 from wicket-keeper Owais Rehmani, who blasted seven fours and two sixes.
