KARACHI, Sept 19: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the federal ministries of defence and housing & works for Sept 26 on a contempt of court application filed against the alleged continued construction activity in the Webb playground, located in Lines Area, in violation of the status-quo granted by the court.

The notices were issued by the SHC’s division bench comprising Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani and Justice Ali Sain Dino Metlo. It also directed the SHC assistant registrar and representatives of an NGO, Shehri, to inspect the site and submit a detailed report to the court within one week.—PPI
