Seven killed in separate incidents

RAWALPINDI, Sept 17: Six persons were killed and six others injured in different road accidents, while a woman was murdered over a property dispute on Monday, police said.

A passenger wagon going to Kashmir crashed into a KRL bus coming from opposite direction killing wagon driver and a passenger travelling in the vehicle. At least six passengers travelling in the wagon were reported injured.

The injured were shifted to different hospital in Rawalpindi where two of them were in critical condition.

Three persons were killed when a pickup van (IDT 3109) collided head on with a truck (KIS 1119) in Kahuta police area. The van driver Shahid Mehmood and his fellow Mohammad Asif were killed on the spot while a passenger Asif Khan died in the DHQ hospital.

Police have impounded the truck and started a search for the driver who had escaped from the scene.

A woman was murdered by her step son over property dispute in Pirwadhai on Sunday night, police said.

Our Staff Reporter adds from Islamabad: A pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a speeding vehicle, police said here on Monday.

Mohammad Imran was crossing road on Islamabad Highway when the vehicle hit him killing him on the spot. The driver managed to escape from the scene along with the vehicle.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Amjad Nadeem lodged a complaint with Golra Sharif police station, stating that four armed persons entered his aunt house in Chaloo and held up the residents at gunpoint and made off with Rs50,000 in cash and jewllery.

He said while leaving the house the culprits tried to kidnap his cousin.

VEHICLES STOLEN: Five vehicles were stolen from the limits of Margalla police station during last 24 hours, police said.

According to details a Toyota Corolla car (RIW-467) of Malik Noor Khan was stolen from near Church at Kaghan Road.

Another Toyota Carolla car (IDJ-9199), of Fahad Shahab was stolen from outside of his house, Street 72, sector F-8/3.

A Toyota Corolla 2D, bearing registration number FDD-7000, two Suzuki Mehran cars, model 2006 (GB-993 and KE-773) were also stolen from the Margalla police limits.—Staff Reporter
