MIRPURKHAS : Murder sparks protest

MIRPURKHAS, Sept 17: A large number of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers staged a demonstration on Monday outside the press club in protest against the murder of Tausif, nephew of a PPP councillor, and demanded early arrest of the killers.

The protesters led by Malik Yaseen Ghori, district president of PPP, blocked the Mirpurkhas-Hyderabad road by burning tyres on the road before they dispersed peacefully.Taluka police, meanwhile, lodged a case of murder of Tausif alias Abdul Saboor Ghori against unidentified people on the complaint of Mohammed Yaqoob Ghori, his uncle.

Tausif Ghori was shot dead by unidentified people on Sunday and his bullet riddled body was found near Mir Shahdad Khan Talpur town.

CERTIFICATES: The Lower Sindh Rural Development Association (LSRDA) awarded certificates to 500 women from rural areas at a certificate distribution ceremony on Monday.
