Landslide claims five lives in Chakwal

ISLAMABAD, Sept 16: A woman and four children were killed in a landslide in a Chakwal village on Sunday.

The landslide incident occurred in Bilalabad area of Tehsil Talagung, where the village women and children were digging a large pit when a big chunk of land fell on them. As many as 15 children and women were buried under the debris.

The nearby people rushed to rescue them, however, a woman, three minor girls and a small boy died on the spot, GEO reported.

The dead were identified as Sadia Haleem, 24, Irum Bibi, 12, Aiman Bibi, 6, Zahid Hussain, 9, and Sameena Iqbal, 5.

The other 10 injured people were taken to a nearby hospital where they are stated to be in stable condition.—APP
